Festival Palomino

This past Saturday, I headed out to Canterbury Park in Shakopee to Festival Palomino -- a show curated by the Duluth's Trampled by Turtles crew -- and my one last outdoor festival before summer comes to an end (which will be tomorrow morning at 3:21 a.m., to be exact).

The only groups of the nine-artist lineup I was really familiar with were Father John Misty and Benjamin Booker. I was reallylooking forward to seeing both of them live -- especially FJM, a true force of nature on stage -- but I was won over by the unfamiliar groups while watching each live act. The appreciation and energy of a crowd, along with bright sun and a cold beer, delivers the perfect setting to fall in love with new artists.

Overall, it was an amazing festival and a perfect end to the summer. Fantastic weather, great music, hanging out with friends and taking photos -- about all it takes to add a cherry on top of a pretty great season.

Here is a list of the artists who played - check 'em out:

-The Lowest Pair

-Lydia Loveless

-Calexico
